Happy Friday twerps! We have a few fun nuggets of Scutches news (that sounds kind of gross). First of all, our buds at Rocket Fuel Podcast not only hosted a vinyl giveaway contest for our boys on Monday, but they also played the MONSTER first single, “Don’t Go” on the show last night. Check it out here.

We also got our first majestic review in from the gentlemen at Oklahoma Lefty. Here’s what they had to say:

Long Island, NY’s The Scutches is a pop punk tour de force. Drawing influence from the likes of The Queers and The Methadones, The Scutches’ latest album Ten Songs, Ten Years is easily as good as anything the former has released and near the epic level of the latter’s tremendous catalog. The songs themselves are traditional pop punk fare—catchy, hook-drive, and mostly about girls—but the record never sounds trite or forced. What really makes Ten Songs, Ten Years work is the hints of early rock ‘n’ roll in the music. The Ramones were essentially The Beach Boys on speed; unfortunately many pop punk bands don’t look any farther back then Joey and company. That doesn’t seem to be the case with The Scutches. One can easily hear whiffs of Buddy Holly, The Beach Boys, and Jan & Dean in Ten Songs, Ten Years right beside The Riverdales and Blink 182.

Have a great weekend!
