B&B Signs Ramones-core Trio, The New Rochelles – New Album Coming Soon

We are super excited to announce the signing of Long Beach, NY’s Ramones-core geniuses, The New Rochelles, and the upcoming release of their debut album, It’s New!. The trio – comprised of Ronnie Rochelle, Ricky Rochelle, and Rookie Rochelle – have built a solid reputation for themselves by concocting addictive Queers-esque pop punk using catchy songwriting, flawless harmonies, and tight rhythms. They encompass everything a fan of The Ramones, Teenage Bottle Rocket, and Screeching Weasel could want in a young, new band: tons of hooks, down-stroked powerchords, and to-the-point mini-anthems about leather jackets, monsters, and getting into trouble. There are also some “1-2-3-4!”’s.

It’s New! will be released this summer on vinyl and digital download via Bright & Barrow. Details and pressing info will be announced soon, but in the meantime the album’s first single, “This Is My LJ,” can be streamed HERE!

Great Review of New H&R EP From Jersey Beat

Hey everyone, check out this fun review of the the new Hunters & Runners EP, I Was The Ghost, from Jersey Beat. Here it is…

Released as a free download on Halloween weekend, Hunters & Runners’ new EP brings a fresh jazzy vibe to the NYC indie scene. The music-hall tone of “Meet Your Maker” suggests what the Gay Blades might sound like without the snarkiness, while “Knife” has an almost Steely Dan like jazz groove. I really like the final track, “The Ghost,” with its layered harmony vocals and propulsive melody. This band borrows a lot of tropes from Sixties pop but makes it all sound quite modern, a neat trick. Mostly this 3-song treat makes me eager to see them live.

Hunters & Runners Release FREE EP, “I Was The Ghost,” To Celebrate All Hallows Eve

NEW YORK, NY – The true Halloween festivities begin after the last partygoer passes out and the final trick-or-treater goes to bed. It is only then that the real ghouls and goblins emerge from their dark realm and turn our sleeping streets into their playground.

For one night a year, these mischievous spirits get to dance on our rooftops, run rampant under the moonlight, and cartwheel through the cemeteries. It is the most exclusive event of the year…but like any good party, it needs a soundtrack.

On their brand new free EP, I Was The Ghost (released October 27 on Bright & Barrow Records), New York City’s Hunters & Runners once again teamed up with producer Chris Howard (Of Classic Renown) to serve up 3 bone-chilling songs that are perfect for this annual celebration of the twisted and macabre.

The three tracks, “Meet Your Maker,” “Knife,” and “The Ghost” throw listeners into a dark nightmare where they are forced to trudge through The River Styx with the Grim Reaper, meet demons and homicidal psychopaths, and of course clean up after bloody, gruesome murders. However, despite the brutality, all of the songs are neatly wrapped up in the tight musicianship, extensive harmonies, and anthemic choruses listeners have come to expect from Hunters & Runners.

Any phantom and/or zombie looking to bring their death to life this Halloween will surely find I Was The Ghost to be a welcomed addition to their playlist. It’s loud, it’s fast, it’s dark, and it’s catchy as hell (the Devil himself actually confirmed this fact…this EP does contain the same approximate level of “catchiness” as Hell).

Oh, and it’s FREE! Get it HERE!

Hunters & Runners Hit The Studio

Hunters & Runners have begun work on a brand new **FREE** EP, which will be the follow-up to their debut full length, Of Classic Renown, released this past March.

The yet-to-be-titled EP will consist of three haunting songs and will (hopefully) be out in time for Halloween.

Chris Howard (Of Classic Renown) is back in the producer’s chair for this one, and so far the band has tracked drums, bass, and guitar.

Here’s proof!

Cause A Scene, Volume One OUT NOW!

cause-a-scene

Click HERE to buy CAUSE A SCENE, VOLUME ONE, a 22-song compilation featuring the best of NYC & NJ punk! Just 5 bones!

What people are saying:

My Crazy Music Blog: “This comp not only causes a scene but defines one. It demonstrates that pop-punk is alive and well, and can still survive even when it is more punk than pop. Each band featured on Cause a Scene comp are solid yet retain their grit, with a mix of old school and new school.

…The true merit of a comp is, ‘Will I go out at buy at least three of these artists’ albums?’ And the answer ‘Yes.’”

The best $5 you’ll spend this month.”

Alternative Press
: “…You get playful, earnest pop-punk cuts like the mildly cutesy, synth-accompanied “Anymore Amen” by the Tattle Tales, the gruffer charge of Wax Phantom’s “See-Thru” and Stewart’s “Dance With Me”—the last of these is peppy, girl-fronted pop-punk that actually resembles the Measure [SA] (who appear later with “Roof Beers”). Compared to the rest of the comp, A Clear Blurr’s “Barely Breathing” is tempered in a Broadway Calls-ish manner, and is definitely a standout as a result. Banquets’ “Eleanor, I Need A Garden” is a cut by the newest project from ex-Let Me Run frontman Travis Omilian, and it’s largely in that slightly gritty, Americana-tinged vein. Speaking of which, the Reveling amplify that mode with gravelly punky tones on the rugged but solid “The Faces We Know.”

Jersey Beat: “…The tracks from bands such as Project 27, House Boat, The Tattle Tales and The Measure (SA) will blow some new listeners out of the water.”

Rocket Fuel: After listening to it multiple times now, I gotta tell you that there is not a single weak track in this 22 track comp (yes, 22 tracks!) of bands that all reside in the greater New York area.  Taking a cue from the comps that we have all grown up on, Cause A Scene couples bands that are a little more known like The Measure (SA) and House Boat with great bands that I had never heard of before like The Break Evens and Stewart.
